THe opt model
I have been a trainer since 2009 and have overcome my own challenges with issues in my body. After my third child I had gained a lot of weight and was looking for a new way to loose weight and change my body composition. It wasn’t until I got certified in 2017 with NASM that I finally found a new way of working out that helped alleviate pain and build a foundation that was strong and less vulnerable to injury.
I became even more passionate about sharing what I learned with people that needed a change. Our society has changed in that more people have postural distortions and muscle imbalances that have caused faulty movement patterns. In using the OPT model I have been able to help hundreds of people change the way the move and live.
The first Stage in the OPT model is stabilization endurance which means training your body in an unstable environment to cause your nervous system to fire up and your core to engage. The goal is to get the nervous system to fire correctly to your muscles and rebuild a foundation in the kinetic chain to move efficiently. Most workouts that people do don’t address the issues on a foundational level which eventually leads to the cumulative injury cycle. Just like when your building a house you have to build on a structure that is balanced and able to with stand the stressors placed upon it. I am so grateful you are reading this and have taken an interest in bettering your health. If you want to know more about the OPT model and the other stages of it take the first step and set up an appointment to get an assessment so we can get you started.
